This week’s Etsy Vintage Team Store Highlight is the WhimZies store that’s run by Bev. Bev has been a folk artist for over 30 years and finally realized that she has many more supplies than she can ever use so she decided to set up a whimzical shop on Etsy.
This way she can share some of her interesting and unusual finds. Her collection of “stuff” includes ephemera, vintage lace, patterns, books, photos, postcards, aprons and unique bits and pieces. All of the items in her shop is perfect for altered artists.
One of these great items is this book from 1912.
This book is a vintage copy of “English Readings” of Tennyson’s Idylls of the King published in 1912. Idylls of the King, originally published between 1859 and 1885, is a cycle of twelve narrative poems by the English poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson. You can see this terrific book in Bev’s shop here.
Another great item in the WhimZies shop is this terrific paper road map.
This fun mid-century road map is for Fulton county Ohio. This is perfect to frame for your wall or to give as a gift, especially is someone lives in Ohio! You can see this great conversation piece in the WhimZies shop here.
As a matter of fact, you can check out everything in the WhimZies shop here. Head on over and check them out!
This week’s Etsy Vintage Team Store highlight features the store VintagePDX that’s run by Red.
Red states that her appreciation for vintage began at a young age. Her parents were buyers and sellers of antique music boxes and player pianos, and accompanied them on many purchasing expeditions. She also lived in London when she was 13, and was lucky enough to frequent the antique markets there as well.
Over the years, Red picked up linens here and there. She didn’t really realize she had a collection until 10 years ago when the tablecloths, pillowcases, and towels were all assembled in one place, and the space they were destined for was too small. Red knew it was time to share the love and begin sending these lovelies back out into the world.
One of the linens the VintagePDX shop has is this great Colonial Style Tablecloth.
The cool 1950’s tablecloth has a great men, women and horse and carriage scene on it, and it can be seen in the shop here.
The shop also has vintage doodads like this paper pattern book.
What I like about the 1950’s book is that it has a wide variety of patterns for hanky edging, doll clothes, doilies, lace flowers and even potholders. You can see this terrific book here.
You can also see more great items in the shop here, so go and check out all of the cool items!
